I attended the Billy Strings concert at the Portsmouth Pavilion and came away very impressed. The venue delivered an excellent live-music experience across every metric that matters.

Parking and access

  • Ample, well-organized parking with clear signage made arrival straightforward.

  • Entry and exit flows were efficient; walkers and drivers moved smoothly, which minimized bottlenecks before and after the show.

Operations and service

  • Wait times for food and merchandise were short, even during peak periods. Concessions were well-staffed and orderly.

  • Staff and customer service representatives were professional, attentive, and knowledgeable. They handled inquiries and minor issues promptly and courteously.

Safety and cleanliness

  • Security presence felt appropriate without being intrusive; bag checks and screenings were conducted efficiently.

Blue Moon Tap House at Waterside

Blue Moon Tap House at Waterside was a major disappointment on the 4th of July. The restaurant was extremely hot inside (in the evening), and we were told the fryer was not working, severely limiting our menu options. We waited a long time for service that was very slow despite our waitress being really good. Many tables were reserved, leaving the place mostly empty. I ordered anyway, but then french fries arrived that had clearly been fried. The fries were disgusting with a strong burnt oil taste and smell. It seemed they told us the fryer was down simply to avoid changing the oil. My chicken BLT wrap was decent. Total letdown bringing family from out of town for fireworks at Waterside. Not sure if they want to stay in business with these issues.
