High Ground Brewing

Image
High Ground Brewing is a winner! The beer is excellent, fresh, flavorful, and well-crafted. The food truck parked on-site served outstanding meals that paired perfectly with the brews. The brew master was friendly and knowledgeable. Love the rustic tap room, patriotic vibe, and outdoor seating area. Great spot for quality beer and solid food. Highly recommend!  https://www.highgroundbrewing.co/

Portland Coffee WV

Image
Portland Coffee in West Virginia is an absolute gem! From the moment i walked in, the warm hospitality and amazing customer service made me feel like family. I even got to meet the owners — incredibly friendly and passionate people who clearly pour their hearts into this place. The food was outstanding, especially the home made grape jelly, but the star of the show was the caramel macchiato; hands down the best I’ve ever had. Rich, perfectly balanced, and absolutely delicious. Everything I tried exceeded expectations. If you’re anywhere near, stop in. Fantastic coffee, great food, and wonderful people. I’ll be back soon! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ https://www.portlandcoffeewv.com/

Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego

Image
The Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego is a stunning property with incredible views. Our room offered breathtaking panoramas of the harbor and city skyline that made the stay memorable. The hotel itself is beautiful, well-maintained, and in a fantastic location right by the waterfront. That said, as a Globalist member I expected better service and breakfast quality. The breakfast meats were often either cold or overcooked, and we had to repeatedly ask for towels during our stay. These small issues were disappointing at this price point and loyalty level. Overall, the spectacular views and beautiful hotel still make it worth recommending for San Diego visitors. Just temper expectations on the dining and some service details.

Old Town San Diego State Historic Park

Image
Old Town San Diego State Historic Park is a must-visit gem! Stepping into this living history museum feels like traveling back to 19th-century California. The beautifully preserved buildings, colorful shops, and lively atmosphere make it perfect for all ages. We loved wandering through the Casa de Estudillo and exploring the many boutiques filled with unique souvenirs. Don’t miss the delicious authentic Mexican food at one of the on-site restaurants — the carne asada was fantastic! The park is free to enter, with paid tours and the haunted Whaley House adding extra fun. Great for families, history buffs, or anyone wanting that classic San Diego experience. Highly recommend spending at least 2-3 hours here. 4 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Whale and Watch Tour in San Diego

Image
Absolutely unforgettable whale watching tour in San Diego! We spotted multiple gray whales breaching and a massive pod of dolphins playing right alongside the boat. The crew was knowledgeable, friendly, and made the whole experience educational and fun. The boat was comfortable with great viewing spots on both decks. Perfect for families or first-timers — we left with amazing photos and memories. Highly recommend booking this one! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ https://sdwhalewatch.com/

Born & Raised

Image
Hands down one of the best steakhouse experiences in San Diego! Born & Raised is pure class with a fun, modern twist. From the moment you walk in, the stunning art deco design, dramatic lighting, and energetic vibe make it feel like a special occasion. The dry-aged steaks are cooked to perfection — we had the porterhouse and it was melt-in-your-mouth incredible. Cocktails are top-notch (try the tableside tartare too!), and the service is polished yet warm. The rooftop bar with Little Italy views is the perfect nightcap. If you're looking for an upscale yet lively steakhouse that delivers on every level, this is it. Worth every penny. We'll be back! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Stayed at the Cozy Rustic Cabin at Whetstone Creek Farm and it was absolutely AWESOME! This place has the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort — think cozy wood-burning stove, comfortable beds, beautiful natural light, and thoughtful touches everywhere. The cabin sits on a peaceful farm with stunning views of the creek and surrounding woods. Waking up to birdsong and fresh country air was pure bliss. The NorVa (Hampton Roads, Virginia)

Image
The NorVa is hands-down one of the best live music venues in Hampton Roads! This intimate downtown Norfolk spot delivers an incredible concert experience every time. The sound quality is excellent, the sightlines are great from almost anywhere on the floor, and the energy in the room is electric. We’ve seen multiple shows here and the vibe is always perfect — not too big, not too small. Plenty of room to move, great bars, and clean facilities. The staff is friendly and the overall atmosphere makes you feel right at home whether you’re there for rock, reggae, indie, or whatever they’re hosting.
